what are the limitations with the demo? I didn't see a nag screen. I downloaded and seems to be working fine for the test i did.

Can I have multiple programs, instances, running using different ports?

Multiple instances? Give it a try.

Yes i tried it. I can communicate to two ports by having two programs running. Excellet!

I got the nag screen once I made a release copy and not running in debug mode. Time to buy.

Yes you can run multiple programs, each accessing a different serial port. But you should also be able to communicate to more than one port from just one program. Just place more than one instance of the comm64 component into you project.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to give that a try.

hello Jim,

Yes, the OnComm event exists just like it does in MSComm with exactly the same CommEvent properties so if you've used MSComm you'll feel right at home.
