There is no output mode binary and strings are encoded in unicode.

Most programming languages nowadays handle strings in Unicode (2bytes per character)

But you don't need to worry about that. Just output your string and the DLL will convert to 8bit ascii based on your current locale/code page.

But if you need guaranteed byte values then convert your string to a byte array and output that. The DLL is happy handling strings or byte arrays
